You’re busy. You have a black belt in multi-tasking.
You’re great at taking care of others, but not so good of taking care of the person who’s running the whole show--YOU.
You know self-care is more than a 5-minute shower, but you still don’t put yourself first and absolutely have not been able to do it consistently enough so you can see changes that last.

I Can Relate

Growing up, I spent my time skating, playing baseball and endless hours of running and riding my bike with friends. I was always on the move. Even when we moved out of town, I had my horse to ride and many chores to do.

When I finished high school, I worked driving a truck. Sitting most days now, I started to gain weight. For the first time in my life, I had to manage what and how much I ate—let’s just say, there was a lot of kicking and screaming. Sound familiar?

Eventually, I ended up with jobs that allowed me to move and my body quickly responded as it did growing up with sports and a lot of activity.

After I was married and we were starting to think about kids, I knew that I wanted to be the one raising them as much as possible, so I had to find work to be flexible and I needed to MOVE.

Becoming a personal trainer was something I knew would challenge me to remain strong and active.

If you’re a parent, you know your life changes—a lot.

My focus was and is on my children, not my body. So, of course, I gained weight, which caused me to restrict my food (more kicking and screaming), because I wasn’t moving enough.

I knew I had to make a permanent change and blend my life with my children’s, so I started teaching Mom and Tot classes.

Teaching these classes was the first time I saw how I could make a difference. The exercise was amazing for the women who came, but what was more important was how they felt about themselves and their relationship with each other during and after the sessions. I loved seeing the relationships form, their fitness goals reached and their self-confidence rise. A powerful combination.

I’ve taken breaks from teaching fitness over the years but have always gone back and have continued to train and learn about fitness and nutrition. I saw how my clients often needed just to talk and so I became a certified life coach, so we could take a more holistic approach to responding to their frustrations and achieving their life goals.
